mobil.TUM - Research Centre Mobility and Transport

mobil.TUM is a group of scientists, that came together through the innovaTUM process. The most important characteristic of mobil.TUM is its multidisciplinary nature. Scientists specializing in different disciplines work together at mobil.TUM to solve the challenging problems that exist in the transport sector today. By working collaboratively, mobil.TUM is expanding the engineering profile of the Institute for Transportation in the ecological, sociological and economical context.

mobil.TUM is active in the following fields:

Teaching

In cooperation with many other parties, mobil.TUM created the „Transportation Systems“ Masters Programme. This programme was launched in the winter semester 2007/2008 and has since been continuously developed and improved by mobil.TUM.

Research

The primary research focus of mobil.TUM is sustainable transport development which involves three key questions.

  • How can the qualitative concept be made manageable for concrete plans?
  • Which measures are best suited to reach this goal?
  • How can the process for the implementation of these measures be initiated?

Networking

Multidisciplinary questions can only be answered through networking with different institutions and disciplines.

mobil.TUM is active in several networks, see networks.

Publications

Work done by the staff members of mobil.TUM is regularly published in renowned scientific magazines and by many publishing companies.

A mobil.TUM publication series with discussion papers is currently being developed.

Symposia and Conferences

mobil.TUM regularly organizes symposia, conferences and workshops. Once every year an outstanding international mobil.TUM-Congress on current topics of traffic research is held by mobil.TUM.
